ALUMNI CONFERENCES 2005/2006

participants: second alumni conference 2006
The second alumni conference 2006 took place at the Dresdner Bank in Berlin.

For the first time, IJP organized an alumni conference 2005 in Berlin. From June 2 - 3 over 100 alumni and high qualified speakers such as Wolfgang Schäuble (MdB) and Jamie P. Shea (NATO) discussed issues concerning "The Power of the Media and Foreign Policy" in round table discussions and working sessions.

2006 again IJP organized a conference in Berlin. From September 7 - 8 we invited our alumni to thoroughly debate two scenarios which we felt most important to us professionally and privately, the complex challenge of climate change and an attempt of mapping the future global media landscape: "Twenty-five Years in Twenty-five Hours - Foresight with Hindsight - The World in 2031". The programme comprised plenary sessions, panel discussions from response strategies to financing media business, an evening reception as well as our Silver Jubilee Party on Friday evening.

Speakers included Copenhagen Consensus' Bjorn Lomborg, former German environment minister Klaus Töpfer, FT Magazine's John Lloyd , David Montgomery of Mecom and London-based publisher Lord Weidenfeld of Chelsea.
